Dissolve the Internal Governance circle

The IC can certainly organise itself better than what a sub-group could.

PS. i think this is a really important discussion that you have introduced Ricky - i think that maybe we should have more time to vote on it? I am also a bit concerned that i will be stepping on other peoples toes in my vote on this manner - as i am not part of the Internal Governance circle - however i remeber leaving it because i couldnt workout what it actually did - or what its real purpose was. i thought that anything that needed to be discussed in the IG could be discussed in the IC...

@olivermintersolvol Thanks for joining the discussion. I was starting to think that everyone was going to ignore it.

Current members of the IG are Paul, Joum and myself.

Joum, you and myself now have all agreed in discussion that the IC can take on the roles of the IG. I think it will only be Paul's toes you will be stepping on if you vote to agree.

Paul is using the IG to step on everyone's toes and dictate to us when we should have our meetings, what our aims and goals are, etc.

I may as well not be a part of the group because I have had no say in when the next meeting will be. I sent an email out with my availability which you and Joum both said that you would try to accommodate. Paul has ignored it and has continued to dictate a meeting time that does not meet the groups needs.

I withdraw my support for him to be the IG Delegate and further more, wish to dissolve the group which all the most active members of SOL have now agreed that we don't need.

I gave the proposal 7 days. It will end two days before the meeting time dictated to us to be on the 12th of September at 1400, giving us two days to cancel the meeting and get all the IC members involved in deciding a time that suits us all.

Sorry Paul. When running with the idea of "stepping on other people's toes", it seems I have attacked you personally. That is not the direction that I intended this discussion to take.

CDM (Collaborative Decision Making) software where we can not vote anonymously is always going to pit us against each other. We need to have the courage to be able to stand up for what we believe in and vote accordingly.

yes its a pity that Ricky's request to change meeting time was not discussed or addressed in reasonable time... i think something has gone wrong in the way we all communicate somehow... i certainly did read the email - and certainly DID think that we should accommodate Ricky's new study timetable in terms of organising the meeting. @paul9 - can u say something about Ricky's new timetable and the schedule of meetings please.

oh and by the way Paul is in transit atm b/n Australia and PNG... so may take a while to get baack to us...

As far as I understand, the IG meeting is not happening for some time yet. I think I was on the phone to Paul and when I asked about Ricky, time, and IG meeting and he said we will not have another meeting till needed. Sorry Ricky, if this wasn't posted to you. In the last minutes you will see that I asked for the IG meeting to be offset to the IC to give me more time to write the IG minutes before the IC.

As there is only 3 of us each person must have a say in the timing because it is no good having a meeting with only 2 people.

Ricky, I do see the confusion in the IG group. The IG cannot really dictate anything, and it might be a silly idea. I respect Paul's opinion that it is necessary and I am prepared to give him time to prove it. It holds no power though. Nothing has power unless we give it power.
