SK Stuart Karaffa Public Seen by 11

A chapter member has requested that our chapter sign on as a supporter to the Unrig the Courts day of action hosted by the People’s Parity Project. The event is on this Wednesday, October 14 at 12:00 p.m. Eastern time.

Please indicate your vote for how our chapter should support this event. This poll will close TODAY at 6:00 pm ET. This poll is closing earlier than normal due to the quick turnaround time required for this event.

The event page is here:

https://actionnetwork.org/events/rally-to-unrig-the-courts/

And the full event description is here:

On October 14, we're showing up at the Supreme Court at 12:00 p.m. to make clear that there can be #NoConfirmationBeforeInauguration.

But that alone is not enough.

It’s long past time to ensure that unelected elites with lifetime appointments do not cause such a fundamental threat to the lives and liberty of so many. That's why we're rallying to tell our elected officials to #UnrigTheCourts.

For the Unrig the Courts Day of Action, I'm voting that we endorse the event. I'm voting this we because I believe the chapter should support the event, but I'm unsure that we can mobilize enough chapter members in less than 24 hours to warrant a full chapter sponsorship. In terms of what support we can provide, we should have time as soon as this vote closes to send out social media and Slack posts in support of the event.

This is an extremely important topic and one the chapter should support. I am voting to endorse because we have very little time to assist with turnout for this event (and have already been asked for last-minute turnout assistance by SocFem for a different event that will require co-sponsorship level support) and per checklist there aren't other public co-sponsors for the DC march. We should help with social media and slack posts in support.

Given the tight turn around time and our inability to confirm wide chapter turnout, we should endorse the event.

Glad to see our members are connecting us with other aligned groups.
