The secretary (or the stand-in for the secretary, if the secretary is absent) will make a post in this thread during (or after) every meeting.
Procedure
This thread will contain all the minutes for this semester, and during that time it will be a pinned thread (it's always at the top of the list). After the semester ends, a new copy should be made, so there aren't too many old posts. The old thread should then be unpinned and closed.
Nothing too formal is needed. Copy and paste this template to start a new Minutes post:

Keep in mind
- Writing down minutes does not replace the need to start other threads about the things discussed. Be sure to do that too!
- Post the minutes right away, so the post time and date correspond with the meeting. You can always edit later.
- If a particular person said something or committed to do something, always @mention them right in the note. This helps with accountability.

For those of you who didn't make it to the meeting on Tuesday: we already planned our first event. The members present chose the trail for our first hike:
Stairway to Heaven! A club favorite. A short (3 mile) hike culminating with a beautiful mountaintop view of the county! ⛰️🔝🏞️
Be there or be square! For all the deets see the Facebook event here, and be sure to mark yourself as "going". (While you're there, like our page!) 👍
If you've got any questions, hit up our new group chat on Messenger. No Facebook account is required to use Messenger now, and you probably already have it on your phone, so we're thinking it's the best way to keep the club lively this semester. Just tap the link and the app should open. And if it's too lively, you mute 🔕 the notifications 📴 and then you can still get @mentioned so you don't forget entirely. 🆗🆒
Can't make the hike? Definitely hit up the group chat to help us plan the next one... We plan on hiking every week, rain or shine! 😮☔☀
Can't make the meetings? No problem - again, join that group chat so we can get your input like you're right there with us. 🗳 Let us know what you're interested in doing!
Interested in messages with a lot less emoji? 💩 Consider joining the officer team 👨✈️👩✈️(yes, we're asking already!) and you can be the one writing these messages. 👩💻 Not boring roles, either: super laborious jobs include social media outreach 📣, taking snaps on our adventures (that will make the world jealous) 📸, and someone to try to count the money coming into our account before it goes right back out again 💸. Oh, and you get exclusive backstage access to the super secret officer team group chat! 🙊 (but seriously guys - this looks great on your resume, and it's not a lot of work. )
Aaaanyway, we always get a lot of sign-ups that don't respond to their email so I'll be sending some reminder emails out as that happens. Don't be that guy though - join now!

Welcome to the fall 2019 semester! our first meeting will be held this coming Tuesday outside (weather permitting). We will meet outside of the campus life office at 10:50am and head outside from there. hope to see you there!
