Welcomes for New Membies???

Sorry if this is already done somewhere, I'll delete if it's redundant.

I have heard rumors that we're getting a bunch of new members!!! (thanks social working group!!!!) do we have any place where we welcome them, or otherwise give space for potentially longer/more co-op focused/more personal intros? I know membershipping is hard, and also don't want to overcomplicate things by adding another step, but would a thread on here be the right place? Mostly I just want to welcome ppl in and meet the new folks!

making me think more about what the role of having our own matrix server would be and this seems like one of the things :)
