Update on I-5/Cascadia Caravan

Update for June 18, 2014:

  1. I finally reserved a 12-passenger van lease with Budget.com! It comes as a plan B as I could not find any vehicle owners who could give their vehicle for free. If I reserve two seats for drivers (whom I would personally choose and consult with), that would end up with a passenger seat costing $85.00 for a round-trip from PDX to Sac. I began creating an online ticketing system and should launch it by next week.

  2. Dave Bilsland from Occupy Spokane had a music tour all ready to go with buses and trailers lined up last summer, but ended up canceling everything because he could not find enough venues across the West Coast. I contacted him this week, and he's interested in joining the Caravan. Fingers are crossed!

  3. Speaking of connections, I have ties to Oregon towns in Eugene, Roseburg, Medford, Salem and Corvallis, as well as connections in Seattle. It's too early to give a response on these cities: that's next week!

  4. I received two submissions on the Wufoo form I created on the Caravan. I had one potential driver in Central Washington and one Getaround member near Sacramento.

  5. An "Anonymous" activist in Portland is interested in holding fundraisers for the Caravan. She's on my radar...

I just sent another from Sharetribe your direction! When exactly is the Oregon caravan leaving to go down? There are a lot of latecomers! I may be able to bring one more if we pack right, but I doubt it!!!
