Gittip does not work in the EU, if I understood it right. I don´t really know why, but would it be possible to create localy functioned versions of it?
I mean if the software exists, why build new?

Gittip does not work in the EU, if I understood it right.

On their FAQs it says:

I'm not in the U.S., can I still use Gittip?
Yes, but moving funds takes more time and the fees are higher.

You mean use gittip code for snowdrift?(or something else?). I guess that could be possible. I'm not a developer but for regular EU payment check out GoCardless (the EU wide stuff is in beta at present, but coming soon).
