Should we have game nights more frequently?

GN Grace Nolan Public Seen by 9

The games night on Friday went really well. I think we could have them more frequently if we invite students to bring their own food and drink.

After we have discussed this further, I will make a proposal and we can vote for/against etc.

Yeah I really enjoyed it, was such a laugh, good music, good atmosphere, garry's mod and hidden were definitely the best. If we got people to bring their own food like you said, i think people would come just for the atmosphere, maybe not as many but still those people that stayed til midnight really enjoyed it!

I think we might get less people if it's a regular event too.
We could have it once a month? or every two weeks?

The board games went really well. There were quite a few people who asked to join the board games club because of it.

Maybe if people want to have pizza we could organise a group order and ask for contributions.

That could work, cause pizzas really aren't that expensive. Every two weeks would be fun, i would want to do it that often, i really enjoyed the board games and the gaming!

I think it would be a good idea, there were plenty of people who couldn't make the LAN who were really interested in attending.

Yeah, it would be good to have it once a month. I say once a month because it would still seem like a fairly special event. It wouldn't annoy people in the labs as often and it doesn't need to be set up as often.

Getting people to bring their own food/drink is a good idea, but I we should make a pizza signup form for anyone who wants to order pizza. I think most people would be happy to pay for pizza.

The collaboration with the board gaming club worked really well, especially for them. If we wanted to draw more of the board gamers into the LAN games a good way to do this would be to offer one or two more strategy games (preferably turn-based).

I thought the environment was really welcoming, inclusive, and positive, which was great! Well done to everyone who had a hand in organising it.

Maybe we could hold it on the last Friday of every month?

Then we could even host it during holidays/study breaks. I'm sure the students would appreciate that.

Maybe we could even do an afternoon special if it's during the breaks, maybe have an outdoors/different kind of game?

I propose we have a games night the last friday of every month Closed Fri 16 May 2014 9:10AM

CS3 will ensure:
- computers are set up with the right games
- there will be enough board games
- ensuring comfortable atmosphere (music, open/unlocked doors)

CS3 will not be:
- paying for food or drinks

We could help order/pick up with big orders of pizza if students would like to do this.

I thought it was a good way for people to relax and have fun. I have talked to Harry about the possibility of turning this to a frequent event and he's happy about it. Said he'll leave all all the games there, so yeah, this should be exciting!
