Publish the Policy Proposals on the Commons Transition Wiki Closed Mon 12 Dec 2016 6:01PM

Do you agree that we publish the policy proposals from the "second round" of the process on the Commons Transition Wiki? Please read the following "Explanatory Note" that would accompany the proposals for more context. The list of the proposals to publish follows:

"These proposals come from participants in the First Meeting of the European Commons Assembly in Brussels, which took place from November 15 to 17, 2017 and was attended by activist from 21 European countries. The process of gathering the proposals for the event was a first experiment in collaboration and the co-construction of commons-based policy. Around 25 topics emerged from the bottom-up, which are accessible through the main hackpad https://europeancommonsassembly.hackpad.com/Policy-Proposal-Co-creation-WnSX18B6o07, a collaborative writing tool.
From this first group of topics, the event organizers examined the list for overlap and invited contributors to collaborate and submit revised proposals that for each area answered the question: How do we develop commoners action in Europe on the given topic, with the EU institution? How can we make this proposal real?. We aim to publish those that were submitted in response not as finalized, fully developed proposals, but rather as traces of the event and shared resources for the commons and for activists. Hosting is by the Commons Transition Wiki, which means that they are living documents open for revision and development. We invite input as the work on the commons in different areas continues to evolve."

I agree with the publication but I have circulated my comments on the list proposed. We have two consolidated Policy Proposals: The Territories of Commons and the Food Commons.
I propose to upload both of them, not one or the other.

From my side I didn't have the time to review the part that I am concerned about (digital commons) but I would not mind if we are given a little more time to edit and there is no confusion created later between the two versions (hackpad and wiki)

it should be done on case by case basis, some are more ready then others....

I think we should only publish these when the authors says it's a "go" even if that means waiting more time. Once all are publish we'll make a nice splash/intro page

I agree with Jose luis that Food Commons should be also published. It is a very interesting one and the final version of Territory commons does not include most of this proposal.

Dear all,
As we are progressing in our initiative and fine-tuning our ideas, I would suggest to name the elaborated policy proposals by their actual names and not by the original labels we were using informally. One example: Common lands or Natural lands have now been merged and called "Territories of Commons" so I would suggest to use that name from now on. Otherwise, we may contribute to confusing readers and commoners by refering to former names and not current documents.

Hi all, just to be sure that I understand. Is this publishing means that further edits of the proposals will take place at the transition wiki or there will be a continuous updating from the hackpads to the wiki?

Since many of those proposals are still in draft form I would propose to publish them after allowing a little more time for edits (let's say 1 week). That is, after the polling is finished announce the decision to publish but give a last chance for contributions.

hi, i'd also be more comfortable with some more time to work on the digital commons one, which is not really ready for publishing. I think overall giving some more time for the people to revise them would be good.

I also have a few basic questions, that might have been discussed in the call which I unfortunately could not join:
How would we be able to work on it , as a living document , when it is already on the commons transition WIKI ?

Also, if we publish them, why not on the Commons Assembly website as well?
