My thoughts on Scoop

Actually a revamped design refresh of Scoop.co.nz Website should be launching this week. This will be the first stage of a more comprehensive overhaul of Scoop's website and publishing infrastructure.

It is a complicated site due to the nature of Scoop's operation and the historical legacy of the code meaning any major changes to the information architecture will be very time consuming and expensive.

I can see where you are coming on with some of the other points, although I certainly don't entirely agree personally about Scoop not doing original journalism at all. There may be a solution to resolve the confusion and make different use cases more clearly separated

Oh and fyi
We already launched a mobile version at m.scoop.co.nz a month ago and announced this publicly. It is in beta right now. We will soon be directing all traffic there once it is fully stable. It is a much better user experience already.
