Should we redesign the website?

I'm not sure that this discussion belongs here in the Inner Circle or in the Website circle. I guess we can leave it here for some of the IC members that haven't voted to vote then move it to the Website group.

The poll seems to keep all the votes that have been placed already but doesn't adjust the percent of people that have stated their position properly.

It says 8/10 people have voted but 2 of those people aren't in the IC. So when the remaining 4 people from the IC vote, will it say 12/10 people have voted?

I shouldn't have moved this discussion. Not only am I causing Loomio to get confused, it wasn't my discussion to move. Maybe Tom had his own reasons for starting the discussion where he did (in the Social Media circle).

I'm thinking that maybe we should add it to our code of conduct that Loomio coordinators shouldn't move discussions that were started by someone else, without first receiving their consent.

Sorry Tom

People read and obtain information in different ways - some are visual people, some are text people, although using visuals increases retention by 30%.

I am not a website expert, but this is my feedback:

What I like
I really like the current picture of the voting against the backdrop of parliament.

I like the latest news and twitter on the front page.

What I don't like
I think the subscribe to the newsletter should be on a different page, as well as the videos.

What I would like to see
I think the front page should be cleaner, perhaps with the how it works on a separate page
Currently there are three main different formats on the front page for linking to other pages - the black text at the top, the blue buttons down the bottom and the orange text below that. I think it should all be the same, they should be brought up to the top, and they should be picture buttons with either the words on them as well, or the words as you hover your mouse over them.

Yeah @rickyj "It says 8/10 people have voted but 2 of those people aren’t in the IC. So when the remaining 4 people from the IC vote, will it say 12/10 people have voted?"

That's wierd...it must be coz they were added to the group after the vote had started and loomio hasnt been able to adjust to it...(they may have been added by myself - i cant remember right now) it shouldnt be saying that 80% have voted..

and yes i get embarrased about our pace... but i am already overwhelmed with work - for me - i feel we all cant help that pace until we get better organised. and the issue of whether to hold this discussion in the IC or the website group - is a perfect example of one of our organisational problems atm...bty my keyboard is missing some letters!lols..

The extra two votes are from Peter and Francois who are in the Social Media circle. That is where Tom started this discussion. I moved the discussion here thinking that this circle would be more appropriate and their votes came across with the discussion.

EMMA - What I don’t like
"I think the subscribe to the newsletter should be on a different page, as well as the videos."
I AGREE.

Really, a name change and logo change should both be matters for Public Relations. I understand that everyone probably wants to have a say in both matters but if the public relations team really know what they are doing, they should know what the best name and logo would be for us.

@rickyj but there are 12 people in this room and loomio is saying that 80% have voted when only 8 out of 12 have voted...

Very interesting that Peter Lindsay could vote here. He is not a member of Inner Circle lol. Not a problem, just pointing it out. Oh, Now I see why. the discussion has been moved.
