Person Centred Lifestyle Planning - Framework and Guides - Development

MK Michaela Kennedy Public Seen by 34

Michaela and Meredith will develop our own version of Person Centred Lifestyle Planning Frameworks, Guides, Instructions, document handouts and videos for internal and external use.

Video’s will include closed captions; documents will include Easy to Read versions.

The guides and templates will include acknowledgement to originators of the work.

The core principles and practices of Person Centreness will build the skills of all Jeder members and will be able to be used in the Grove Training as required.

The full series of Person Centred Lifestyle Planning will aid the establishment of Person Centred Planners and Trainers within the organisation.

The full series will be able available to purchase by external interested parties as video training. The training will support the work of trainers in the practices. By the end of the project the Training will be available internally and externally, via Face 2 Face sessions and online learning.

Why is this important?

It’s important for Jeder Members to know and understand the underpinning PCP Frameworks as this strengths based philosophy is the basis for all the work we do, particularly in the NDIS space.

The project increases the capacity of Jeder’s members to implement strengths focused practices in our work and will be a source of income for skilled members who become Planners and Trainers.

Please see full Project Proposal attached.

We welcome any clarifying questions before 06.09.2021.

Great proposal - I'm keen for you to get it started so CoBu can see a roadmap for doing a community-based one!

Great initiative. I'm sure Michaela and Meredith, will do a great job with this. Any chance of doing a video on how PC approaches can synchronise with Positive Behaviour Support Practice standards?

Thanks Aleks, they will be on video as tutorials and have documents included. The idea is to develop the frameworks in order to make a PC Lifestyle Plan. Maybe synchronising with a PC BIS Practice standards is another piece of work. Happy to discuss.

@Michaela Kennedy FYI, I just noticed that only 6 members have been invited to vote on this proposal.

Hi @Michaela Kennedy and @Meredith Baylis this is located in the Training Jedi- should it be moved to the Dollars Jedi so all members can vote on it (see Aleks' comment above that only 6 members have been invited to vote on this)- I am not in the training Jedi and have to go through a number of links in the Loomio Email Notification to get to this page (it was quite confusing/cumbersome).

A clarifying question- the budget- you are requesting $10,000? Is that right? The budget according to my calculations is $15,000- where does the other $5000 come from?

Cut/Paste from your proposal (blue is my calculations):

  • 50 hours x $100 (This equates to $5000) – development of frameworks, guidelines, templates, presentations, and video recording. .

  • 100 hours x $50 (this equates to $5000)– video editing 1 hour’s length of video footage, a simple tidy, titling (usually 8 times the original hour-long recording is spent doing this) and closed captions (2 hours) would likely end up at 10 hours. Editing rate is $50 per hour.

  • A job limited to 10 hours work for $500 x 10 videos = $5,000 (this is $5000)

  • Total = $10,000 (total $15,000)

Hi @Jason Emmins , Good question. I will let @Michaela Kennedy change that as she created the post.

Thank you for your clarifying question, i can see why the below details are confusing.

Point 1. 50 hours x $100 (This equates to $5000) – development of frameworks, guidelines, templates, presentations, and video recording.

Point 2. 100 hours x $50 (this equates to $5000)– video editing 1 hour’s length of video footage, a simple tidy, titling (usually 8 times the original hour-long recording is spent doing this) and closed captions (2 hours) would likely end up at 10 hours. Editing rate is $50 per hour.

Point 3. A job limited to 10 hours work for $500 x 10 videos = $5,000 (this is $5000)

Point 4. Total = $10,000

Point 2 and 3 are one or the other options. We would prefer Point 1 & 2 to be funded and therefore Point 4 will total $10,000.

I hope that clarifies things.🙂

Thanks @Jason Emmins the last 2 dot points are one point. The second part only explains how the job came to the dollar amount. Hope that helps.

We also invited all members to the proposal when it was under the training Jedi, maybe I did it wrong.

Thanks @Meredith Baylis and @Michaela Kennedy

I am still a little unsure- one say's its one or the other and the other is saying they are one point? I am confused?

I am presuming there are 10 video's/recordings that will be an outcome/output for the project (I cant seem to locate the original proposal now to double check). If you wanted Point one and 2 funded, then why was point three added? Seems confusing? Does the budget need to be reworked again for clarity?

It seems that if we leave it open ended and the project goes over budget, then there could be recourse for consideration of another $5000. Is this fair for other projects/proposals?

Happy to talk more if this helps gain clarity?

I think we have been very clear. We are not leaving it open ended. The last 2 points are the same thing. I've amended the formatting on the original document, which I hope makes it clearer for you. Go to document here
