Proposal Closing Times

At the moment the proposal closing times are not specific, instead it states that the proposal will be "Closing in x day(s)"

Is there a reason for this?

Why not have a specific closing time so people know when they need to express their opinion on a proposal?

You mean for example to close in 4 days and 50 minutes and 20 seconds instead of in 18 June 2013 in 21:40:20.

At the moment as a user who has not made the proposal I just see that the proposal closes in X day, rather than at a specific time for example the proposal here: https://www.loomio.org/discussions/5240

Given that many groups on Loomio will be international in nature seeing the closing time in terms of the structure x days and x minutes and x seconds would be logical.

@neilmorris there is a piece of work to do to make all the dates on the site properly localised. Personally it's high on my list of priorities as I am de facto 'owning' the translation project.

Specifically thinking about proposal closing times, I would like to play with some different ideas rather than just displaying a static line of text saying "Closing in *****".

From a user behaviour point of view, I reckon the closing time is only ever in one of two states: closing soon (better participate asap), and not closing soon (we've got time to deliberate).

I have been thinking there's probably a simple iconography that could convey this graphically, e.g. a clock icon that changes colour as the closing time approaches, with the specific hours/minutes/seconds hidden one click/hover away.
