Minimum number of characters in voting for proposals
When deciding a position in a proposal, it is very interesting that the argument has a minimum number of characters (80?) To avoid voting without arguments and also encourage more and new exchanges of opinions
Gred, it is true, authorized by written characters minimum.
That makes more sense:
a) Total freedom and position without arguments
b) Requiring a minimum of characters, where apparently written, new exchange of opinions
In theory I'm for option a), but in practice prefer b)
I think it might make sense to create a group setting option where admins could choose b) if they want to, especially when people "Block". However, perhaps it's best to just leave that informally to each group. Anyone can create (or negotiate, by consensus) their own 'group norms' or guidelines. People could summarize or link their guidelines in the group's "Description".
If people cause problems in a specific group by 'voting' without engaging in dialogues, we can talk to them informally about that problem. If anyone consistently ignores a group's consensual norms, there are probably some additional problems in their Loomio interactions.
I think it's probably good for efficiency that people can "Agree" to very simple proposals without commenting.
I think that seems to have little value the simple choice of one of the 4 options position without adding the reasons for the decision
Some decisions are complex. Others are very simple. I trust humans to make the choice for themselves how much engagement is needed. If a group wants to set a culture of always writing reasons, they can set their own culture.
@alonna It would be a great help if Loomio, performs automatic control, the number of characters when the group decides
Hi @carlosgallogaravan , do you mean to suggest that people should only be allowed to give their position if they type a minimum number of characters?
Personally, I think that would be most interesting as a requirement for 'Block' positions, although I'm open to requiring it (or not requiring it) for all four positions.
