Medicinal cannabis
Hi everyone, I am very keen to be able to get cannabis products available for medical/health reasons. I am the director for Greencross NZ and we already have a draft drugs policy.
It is written up on our website http://cannabismedslaw.org/. It was written up as a submission to the National drug policy.
This policy includes, education, licensing, safe supply and support where necessary.
Getting this through before the elections could make a big difference for the Internet/Mana party on election day.

The scientific proof of the health benefits of Hemp Oil and other cannabis products is overwhelming.

Even though I strongly dislike heroin and 'P', it really is a 'license all drugs' or 'ban all drugs' situation. To only go halfway would make us all look indecisive and weak.

This would Stop the suffering. It would stop good people being taken to bad places for their medicine.

More importantly, Hemp needs to be 100% legal. It can be used to make textiles, oil, and fuel which would rid our country of the need to rely on imported fossil fuels (which are getting more expensive by the day).

It is starting point from where we could hopefully move to a more de-regulated market for softer substances ie Cannabis. It is great to see that you would be taking the criminality away from drugs and to treat people with problems.

I am voting 'agree' to get the ball rolling.
I am sad to see that this is the best we can do. Cannabis is a plant that has been cultivated for thousands of years. It will keep on being used by those who want it. Legalise it. Anything else is silly.

It starts the ball rolling. Cannabinoids are scientifically been proven to kill cancer cells. A industry can be created from legalising Marijuana, also for Textile industry and Bio fuel.

I don't know enough about this, haven't read the linked proposal, and am not really interested in recreational drugs anyway. As for the comments here about legalising hemp, I thought it was already legal, eg. The Hemp Store http://www.hempstore.co.nz

I would agree with the exception of turning weed into a business I can home brew beer and distill spirits at home legally and without a licence don't see why weed should be any different or that it should be taxed

This should be done, no questions asked. It works medicinally for cancer sufferers and people in chronic pain in many other countries.

I'd prefer to see full legalisation. Medical marijuana is like a halfway point that really isn't going to solve the problems brought about by prohibition.
