I missed this, but very excited just looking at the notes! I've shared this link other places, but I've signed up for this workshop on Territorial Acknowledgements run by a Ta7talíya Michelle Nahanee, a Squamish facilitator based in the unceded territories of so-called Canada. (The time and price point are not super accessible, so ofc I'll also take copious notes and report back!)
Also perhaps of use: here's an official list of permanent monuments and statues in NYC parks. Enjoy :)
(edit to add: Ta7talíya is also the creator of the anti-colonial board game Sínulkhay and Ladders, which could make for a fun event in the post-vax future!)

Be/Bettina, Keira, Chris and I met and did some introductions to each other and the past work of Indigenous Solidarity in MACC. Be called attention to the way in which solidarity with Indigenous people keeps us separated from solidarity with Migrants, and we began discussing a strategic reorientation against empire, which we'll continue discussing at future meetings.
it's been some time since we last talked and did anything and I know a lot of shakeups in schedule and availability. That said, @Keira voiced interest in joining us and i'm hoping we can plan a path forward as i'm running low on capacity for this.
Some agenda points which seem doable in a 1 hour meeting:
intros: who are you and what do you think you have the capacity? (10 min)
designating responsibility for land acknowledgment for next GA (5 min)
reviewing past Indigenous Solidarity events/activity - making a plan forward (10 min)
review Zapatista New Year declaration outcome (10 min)
planning next meeting roles/responsibilities (5 min)
Add another option if the times don't work!

Notes from our discussion tonight:
Some discussion of the awful statues in NYC, considering some performances on those sites upcoming.
Group participation/responsibilities:

Start keeping a regular Housekeeping/Chore list, with recurring roles:
Notetaker: take notes of meetings, post them on Loomio
Scheduler/Reminder: scheduling meetings, reminding people via Signal before it happens
Land acknowledgments: Prepares statements for the monthly MACC General Assembly
Other roles, as required by the event to be determined as we go. When we define them, we will extend opportunities to get involved to the broader "audience" (via Mailchimp email announcement list) and will communicate the request for a consistent commitment to fulfill those things.
Discussion of group layers of participation
Working group: Larger invitation to all people. Make people aware of what we are thinking for our public programming. Make invitations for new roles
Affinity group actions: People can decide what they want to do and with whom.
