January 24 2026 Joint Co-op Hackathon

On Saturday Jan 24, 2026, we will hold a joint working session with cosocial.ca to improve both co-ops onboarding procedures. It will run from 9:30a (in your timezone) to 11:30a Pacific

What do we hope to accomplish:

Who do we want to join our co-op? How can we better communicate this?

(We made some progress on this in December - see new description on server about page and wiki front page)

What other public-facing surfaces do we have? Can we update them to be consistent with the blurb from the Co-op Membership track of work?

How could we best welcome people to our community? This is where we might brainstorm onboarding cohorts or mentors, or something else entirely!

How can we improve discovery of social.coop? what is stopping us from being on http://joinmastodon.org/

Feel free to pitch other ideas that you want to work on with people!

Members of either co-op who wish to contribute to the documentation and improve the processes of onboarding.
