LOOMIO +/- mailing-list (based) software?

Could some of developers help us where to get informed on how exactly LOOMIO uses emailing and how can this maybe be tweaked so that organizations do not have to use both mailing/distribution/newsletter-list software or services (like googlegroups) and LOOMIO, or at least to be able to work in best possible synchronization (minimum redundancy) for people who just want to use this extensivly.
