Hi everyone! Tomorrow the Norwegian Social Forum is starting and... we won't be there. It's unfortunate, but it happens. Of course there will be many other occasions (and I will be proposing also to look at the WSF of transformative economies process)... but how can we seize this (apparently) lost opportunity for the better?
Ole, it would be great if you could tell us what you see in the Norwegian SF that could potentially be linked to what we discussed in Helsinki, who could be contacted of the participants, etc. And let's keep the thread going... sometimes just a few words may re-energize a discussion!

And by the way, to Ole and all the organisers of the Norwegian Social Forum: really sorry not to be there, I hope you have a great Forum !

Dear @madeleine1, @laurakumpuniemi , @rubyvanderwekken and @jn42 .

We have now finished the Norwegian Social Forum. It was a great success. We changed the venue so it har more a feeling of meetings of social movements, than of NGO's coming together.

We had Vandana Shiva there as one of the keynote speakers. I think her work on the small farmers, and the understanding of the seed as a common, rather than a patented commodity ressonates with our discussions on the commons in a profound manner.

The Norwegian Social Forum also launched a campaign called, "Ta havet tilbake og jorda i bruk" "Reclaim the oceans, and put the soil in to use". The discussions about the fisheries is very much about the understanding of the oceans as a common. The commons is not such an articulated part of the agricultural part of the discussion,

I am also more than eager to hear more about the WSF of transformative economies, how this is connected with the general process of the WSF, and if we through connecting the Norwegian. the Finnish and the Transformative, could strengthen these processes by themselves and also the WSF process.

Thanks Ole for this feedback on the NSF... sounds like it was really awesome! We should definitely be in touch for the WSF of Transformative economies ... you should be receiving a news update soon (the organising team is finally in place in Barcelona and will start communicating more extensively). Cheers!
