Comments on preprints
Happy new year all! @Bruce Caron please can we check that comments are working for preprints? I submitted a comment on a preprint in December (https://doi.org/10.31223/X50X7C) and after pressing submit got a message that this would be reviewed before being shown. I didn't have to log in and there was no other confirmation it had been submitted. The comment has not appeared online, and at least from my Dashboard I can't see any section for 'comments in review'.

Ah ok, thanks. Does this mean that the author of the preprint choses in the comment is shown in EarthArXiv? Then as my comment was critical of their manuscript, as I suspect many are likely to be, they could have chosen not to allow it to be publicly visible?

@Ann Rowan Looks like authors get to decide. That's why we need hypothes.is...

AUTHORS get an email when a comment has been made. I tried this, and my email went to the spam filter... but there is a notification. And authors can moderate comments. NOTE: for years, we've been pressing to get a the hypothes.is inline commenting.
