Question: according to our Mastodon and Open Collective stats, we have 958 users and 136 contributors (members who pay $1 to $10 a month). How many non-paying members do we have?

Matt do you consider people that signed up but never paid a subscription fee members? or people that paid but stopped paying to still be members? One thing that is missing is a clear gate to membership (ownership) beyond signing up and getting at handle and then starting and continuing to pay a subscription fee.

One thing that would be nice to see is separation of certain amount of fees paid being considered the Capital Contribution needed to bestow Membership (ownership) and the continued payment of the subscription determining Active or In-active membership status with either governance and/or platform privileges being part of the latter.

To add to Matt's question where is the accounting of the payment transaction fees? I couldn't find any listed on the social.coop Open Collective page. Specifically what i'm looking for is if a Member pays $1 how much actually ends up in the account being held on OC? Normally there is a per transaction charge plus a %. I heard something about OC bundling transactions but not sure if that is correct.

As I understand the by-laws, we have a category for "non-paying members" who are admitted at our discretion. I am not sure if any such members exist officially.

Not sure... Maybe @matthewcropp knows a bit more about the current situation.
