What are we trying to do?
This is a description of our current thinking about what we're trying to create here.

I suspect that a large number of you have joined this group primarily because of wanting to live cohesively in a community - however a strong reason is also also to tackle the problem of housing affodability head on.
I've been reading the content on this website, which was authored by @soniacorbett:

It's an interesting view of how financial resources can be pooled, though I need a greater level of details and actual numbers to solidify my understanding of it.
What do you guys think of the CoHOP method? Have you heard of variants to this which might work well in our NZ legislative environment? Anybody see any hooks that we might have to be aware of?

Craig your proposed model I think looks great and could be used as a template to weave /integrate /change and to build other models into such as CoHOP. This is great work and covers most area's but I think could be changed in some area's to accommodate other thoughts and idea's.
I like Sonia's CoHOP method also and the possible use of investment savings pools. Concerned a little about the interest lending and my question is do we want to get caught up with large loans from banks which I see as part of the problem for folk out their.

Here is a document that I have written on the subject. This is not authoritative at the moment, we haven't chosen a final structure. Sonia has modeled some alternative costing options which we'll be exploring too.
