Trips and falls

K kitkate Public Seen by 468

Had a trip in the shop area today while trying to get lights on. I moved a number of power cables out of the walking path and a box for recycling from the base of the stairs after. I know we can't be perfectly accessible at this location but it really helps me be safer around equipment if aisles are clear. If I moved something of yours it was just to make it safer for me to get around.

We should really have a permanently on light near the light switch

Yeah this is a real good idea, it's a bit too tedious and dangerous walking over to the light switch in darkness trying to avoid all of the scattered objects on the ground. Will sort this out soon if no one beats me to it :)

I have sorted this. Now when you enter, there is a light that automatically comes on, it is a motion activated LED light that is attached to the metal pipe on the left side of the entrance. The magnet just holds it in place so just pull it off and use it to light your way to the light switch. Then just place it back where it rests. FYI, the light switch is photo sensitive, so it only activates when motion is detected and it is is dark. The light is very powerful and runs off of 3 AA batteries and will last for at least 3 months before the batteries need to be changed. Finally, I have loaned Hackland a Rezap battery charger that recharges alkaline and is located on the top shelf of electronics work bench. And yes, you heard right, it will recharge alkaline batteries 10-15 times (duracell, energizer, etc). It uses a proprietary pulse charge to recharge alkaline batteries, you've never seen or heard of this before because the battery industry squashed the technology because it cuts into their revenue stream. So please bring don't throw away your dying/dead alkaline batteries, bring them in and recharge them, usage directions are on the Rezeap charger. Again, there is a permanent motion activated light that is attached using a magnet to the left hand side of the door when you enter Hackland, use it to light your way to turn on the main light switch, then place it back where you found it. Cheers!
