I disagree a little about software Emma... Developing our own proprietry software would take a large army of skilled coders/computer programmers - if we want to do it that way - otherwise we just pay a third party company that has already invented such software - and use that or pay them to modify it to our own needs.. The point is that Software is actually the hardest thing to create and will always be the largest group i imagine.
