and to be able to contribute to that and see the those costs covered by donations
In terms of implementation, I'm not sure what the overhead of this would currently be.
Making a really nice payment page which does everything automatically would (ironically) probably cost as much as a month of server costs to develop.
Can anyone think of a low cost way we could try this and make it international-friendly ?

If people want to donate, they can do so now at http://love.loomio.org - why do we need something separate for servers?
transparency. being able to see a concrete ongoing cost that the community could help out with and have a sense of satisfaction about helping support, so that we can instead use that month to support development in other areas.
perhaps we could start by having a page which makes public our monthly burn in different areas. I would love to see that. GRAPHS OVER TIME
Thought it was about a widget to be embedded / enabled by organizations / people when they host their own Loomio website in their servers. Then these organizations / people would have their hosting costs covered by donations. Anyway, when it happens they can always use PayPal Giving.
seems like a nice transparency mechanism.
for reference @robertguthrie has just been doing some amazing work to bring these costs down to (i think) around $300 a month
