Media Meeting 15/9/20 -all welcome

JR Jane Riekemann Public Seen by 19

As a result of our email for help, we've had 3 excellent offers. Two are professional journalists: Joseph Heaven and Celia Brayfield. Joseph has worked for Bloomberg and the Bath Chronicle and has 'had a bit of experience with different bespoke content management systems and Squarespace, so am confident I would get the hang of Wordpress quickly. Re: editorial I'm a strong editor. I would probably need a deeper understanding of your strategy before I would feel confident creating content' while Celia is well-known to us as she chaired our live Ian Dunt event, joined us on protests, is a successfully published writer of fiction and teaches at Bath Spa. Archie Basson-Sanders (connected to Mark) is a third year politics student at York and would like to write for us. I'll invite them to this Zoom meeting ( have already invite Celia who's coming).

Bath for Europe is inviting you to a scheduled Zoom meeting.

To clarify work to be done on the website:

  1. Refreshing the front page. Not that easy as it needs brief punchy text and a good idea of what our priorities are. And needs frequent updating - anyone who looks at it now will see it's a bit out of date.

  2. Blogs. Would be good to have a few more of them from a variety of people. Work consists of either writing blogs or getting other people to write them.

  3. Brexit reality. I set up a page early in the year with one piece of content. We should be aiming for content that is very short/punchy and visual/graphical, like much stuff on twitter. There is a debate to be had about whether this is really needed, whether we are just repeating something done elsewhere. My view is that there is more permanence to something on the website. Also, while there are plenty of wordy stuff on various websites and links to articles, I haven't seen anything that brings together the short visual material that would good.

  4. Posting information about events etc. Once the blurb is written this is not difficult and I'm happy to continue doing it.

I would also add that we would be open to new ideas about what to do with the website. This also might connect to our broader social media strategy.
