How about an independent agency created specifically for investigating police car pursuits?

@fredlook @marcwhinery
I wonder if it would be easier to have an automatic coroners decision that running from the cops, is attempted suicide.

Why not just use the Police Helicopter instead?.That way.Instead of using it to stalk people going about their lawful business (driving to their local gym) you could actually be 'hands-off' and locate all parties without multiple deaths.

My bad: Sadistic power & control wins.

@blair By the logic of those posting here, if a police helicopter is in the area, and someone gets scared and kills someone else (driving erratically, stabbing someone, whatever), the police are responsible for acts they had no knowledge of, nor control over.

@marcwhinery Such a pity then, that Police actually do hover their helicopter (One of at least six in N.Z.An AS355 'contracted', but flown by Police staff) 25 meters above a person going about their lawful business. Not once. But twice in the space of two weeks.

But that person didn't drive erratically, nor stab someone,or whatever?.

In fact: The only thing it did, is prove that humans are incredibly sadistic, as far as 'perverted abuse of power' is concerned.Unless your o.k with clearly distressed members of the general public?.

BTW: Ask Kim Dotcom about Police helicopters.Outside of this. You intrinsically know everything about nothing.

Keep up the smoke and mirrors.

@blair I tried to search for incidents like you describe. I found none. Care to point us to a cite?

I had a police helicopter circling me for close on half an hour one day. Apparently walking down the road with a bag is suspicious behaviour.

@colinengland I had one circling me for over half an hour once. Turned out there was a shooting one street over. But if I hadn't seen that, or I was sufficiently paranoid, I could have believed they were tracking me.

And in Sydney once, I had one hover over me for hours. Turns out Oprah was at the Opera House, and the helicopter was hovering for a shot of her.

I wasn't at the Opera House nor was there a celebrity nearby. I was merely walking to the shop - a distance of just under 3km - and the police circled me for well over a kilometre.

@marc whinery : Said incident will be reported to Media. It's Election Year.Carpe diem!.

It involves a Corrupt and Criminal New Zealand Government Department.A Corrupt and Criminal U.S Government Department. And a 'complicit' German Government Department.

In terms of 'shit hitting the fan'.It sits nicely between Julian Assange and Edward Snowden.

Here's an insight: If you were a United States Government Coward?.Who would you enlist to do your dirty work for you?.

Would it be STASI using G10 Legislation, or would you just accept that Foreign Counterparts can be used,to clean your own dirty laundry on your behalf?.

Even when you explicitly know, that your own Supreme Law is
'not worth the price of admission'.

Outside of this: http://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/news/article.cfm?c_id=1&objectid=10908472

Ask the mother of this individual how it feels to bring about life, only for it to be shoved over a fence and then dragged across a paddock, even when his spinal cord has been severed?.

Police Vehicle Vs (Police Helicopter Vs Known Address).

You be the Judge.

P.S Do I lose sleep about my profile here. Not in a month of Sundays :)

Mr Legg, a disqualified driver with methamphetamine in his blood, was clocked doing 136km/h by police when he took off, abandoned his car and ran up a steep, wooded hill about 9pm on April 24 last year.
An officer and dog handler arrested him at the top of the hill.
