The objectives define what the proposed joint civil society action on sustainable development aims to achieve.

The post-2015 agenda has to translate into real transformative change and gains for those populations and people currently left behind, and the objectives of our work at this stage of the process are:

1.Ensure full and successful implementation, follow-up and monitoring of the post-2015 agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals at all levels (global, regional, national and local);
2. Ensure and support real citizen and civil society participation in the implementation, follow-up and monitoring of the post-2015 agenda;
3. Build a global movement with inclusive and participatory processes and with a balanced leadership from the Global South and North, representing all regions.

We want to hear your opinion. Let us know what you think about these objectives by posting a comment below.

Thanks Hanna. The objectives sound great. Just a small suggestion to highlight in the objectives - CSOs active participation and involvement during the drafting of the nation action plan for the implementation of the SDGs. Since after the adoption, countries are expected to contextualise the SDGs as suggested in the draft outcome document, I think it is imperative for CSOs representative to be actively involved in this process of drafting through to implementation, monitoring and evaluation.

I think the 3 objectives as we it are sufficient enough and should be kept as is. I agree with Zoneziwoh on the need for CSOs to be actively involved in contextualising the goals at the national level. This will require some attitudinal change on the side of both government and CSOs at least rooting out the culture of mutual suspicion that has long existed between both parties.

1.Ensure full and successful implementation, follow-up and monitoring of the post-2015 agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals at all levels (global, regional, national and local);

At national level: CSO reptresentatves to be nominated by CIVICUS and the HLPF to coordinate the national SCOs. They representatives must be integrated in UNDP for their protection and copy to ECOSOC and governments.
AT local level: National CSOs representatives can nominate local CSOs representatives to coordinate local areas and copy to CIVICUS and the HLPF.

Well the objectives seem ok however I was just thinking of crafting something that points towards holding leaders accountable for the post 2015 agenda?

Leaders accountability is a serious problem, it why I was pointing the competency and commitment of the CSO.

I agree with Dosse, accountability is a serious problem,
but from personal experience I think the real problem is awareness from the grassroot, and inclusive participation towards a successful implementation.
There is need to appoint focal points from the grassroots, building a tree of focal points and empowering the focal points to monitor awareness and accountability.
