OPEN 2020

Are tickets necessary if your proposal has also been accepted or you're presenting?

The plan was... as in previous years, that everyone needs a ticket. It costs a significant amount of money to host an even like OPEN. But we have now taken the tough decision to postpone the event and hold something online instead.

I understand the costs. Thanks for clarifying. Sorry you had to cancel the face-to-face meeting, but it is understandable. Glad there will be something else online instead though. Checking the link details now.

Hi All - just a short update to remind you all (if you haven't got your ticket yet) that OPEN 2020 is happening this week on Thursday and Friday. The main event info is here and the full lineup of events is here - or you can look at the program of main sessions in a google sheet here.
We will be hosting OPEN 2020 via an open source video conference tool called Big Blue Button - hosted via meet.coop ... and will be sending out joining info to all ticket holders on Tuesday, to allow you time to test the tools.
The unwaged ticket is just £3.50 so we're hoping that makes the event affordable for everyone and are very much looking forward to see you all there! Get your ticket here.

I was hoping to attend the first Mutual Credit session but wasn't able to register and pay until just before the session. I didn't receive any notification about how to access the event so I suppose I have missed it. If I go to the event page there is no indication that I have already paid, it just says 'book ticket', which I already did.

Is the info about where to join the conference sent out manually, so I have to wait for that process to take place? And will the sessions be recorded? Thanks.

I have been developing some reflections on OPEN 2020 which I aim to publish as a blog post at some point - please add comments if you have any reflections...

@Grace (Rebecca Rachmany) (who chaired the mutual credit deep dive session) is now running an Experiment which you are all welcome to get involved with...

The Experiment is a Commons that we will co-govern. The emphasis is on developing our interpersonal skills along with our organizational and execution skills, so we remain a cohesive group as we produce results.

It's a very open and collaborative concept which may possibly develop into a co-created event... although the general objective is to "organize an Armada from our flotilla of networks and communities"... which sounds like a very worthwhile endeavour to me!
