We need to make sure this only takes 30 minutes.

Based on research, determine how we can better use the time before the presentation to foster better connections between attendees and welcome more introverted folks.

I like the idea of looking for ways to be more introvert friendly and to foster connections. I'd love to see us explore further what that would look like. It may be that we get ideas for things that happen before, during, and after the talk. For me, for example, pretalk time already feels pretty structured, between intros and Tech 101. But I'm an extrovert. So, yeah, I'd love to see us research to explore further. Then I think we'd be ready to propose some solutions.

Cool interactive visualization on the projector screen that people can type stuff about themselves or their interests into? :)

I counted six groups who didn't add themselves to github. That doesn't seem like a problem from my perspective, though. The old content on the website has been removed, and they still got to announce their groups, just as they would have if they had just thought of that group last night and wanted to stand up and invite people. I don't think they need to knock themselves out trying to get announcements into github in the cases where the technology is daunting. What do you all think about that?

Secondly, nice buttons on the website! I like that idea. I'll be curious to see how well that works for people.

With a big group it's difficult for much interaction beyond who you are in the food line with, or who sits near you. I've been trying to encourage people to introduce themselves via Twitter as they do so verbally;. I can't hear what most people say when they introduce themselves, but a Twitter intro saying "Intros at #chihacknight. I'm Dan. See what I do. click link" would provide an archive, and a way for people to dig deeper to engage. A similar set of intros on the Slack group, might take this even further since Slack supports on-going interactions.

I am unclear what the actual proposal here is

This looks to be more of a discussion than a proposal. I move that we close this proposal with no binding action. If anyone has an idea, open another proposal on this thread.

@ethanheppner do you want to propose a particular change to the existing structure we have?
