We should do this, but we have to be careful to include our position that our members should engage in lawful behavior. We seek to change the laws and to require the government to start obeying existing laws. This includes obeying existing laws that protect whistleblowers, and passing tough new laws to protect whistleblowers like Bradley Manning.

I agree with all three of you. With regard to WikiLeaks, protections for the press (even or especially non-traditional press) are critical.

I think we should support Bradley Manning, and whistleblowers in
general.

Eric raises a good point, in that we need to respect exising laws.

That said, I think it's incumbent on to speak to the need for whistle
blower protection. I also feel we have a duty to advocate for
government transparency. I've read dozens of leaked cables. IMHO,
those documents should have been public to begin with.
