Just got note from Chris at Code for America that Code for Miami is now officially out of pizza money. :(
So that means that we're going to have to start being proactive in fundraising. I'm currently in the process of writing a blog post to announce that we're raising money for both Code for Miami weekly hack nights as well as the umbrella organization - which I'm calling Open Miami - if we want to do any particular funding programs.
If anyone has any ideas on ways to fundraise, or can lend a hand writing a blog post, let me know.
EDIT: I should also point out I created an OpenCollective (like Patreon) to specifically for Code for Miami: https://opencollective.com/codeformiami - you can subscribe for as little as $2 a month.

I may be able to help in various ways.
I can edit things like blog posts and other appeals (though I don't assume it will be easy to raise $$ that way).
I may be helpful just thinking thru some strategy, tho really good fundraising requires a ruthlessness i admire but don't quite have
I think we could do some joint fundraising with Miami Open211. That's more complicated of course.
