Giveths Curation DAO (Odyssey Plan)

JF Josh Fairhead Public Seen by 207

Vision: Giveth.io - Rewriting the story of human collaboration. Funding common causes and utilities through bonding curves, curating them via crowdsourcing (TCR's) and filling in the blanks with machine learning and simulation.

Strange attractors: Odyssey Hackathon - Scaling Ecosystems, Nature2.ooo and Inclusive Banking. We will participate and integrate.

Before that however, there are the following events:
* ETHDenver - Friday, February 15, 2019 - Monday, February 18, 2019
* ETHAustin - Friday, February 22, 2019 - Monday, February 25, 2019
* Blockchain Week Paris - Monday, March 4, 2019 - Monday, March 11, 2019
* Ethereum Magicians Paris - Monday, March 4, 2019 - Tuesday, March 5, 2019
* Council of Paris 2019 - Monday, March 4, 2019 - Monday, March 4, 2019
* EthCC Paris - Tuesday, March 5, 2019 - Friday, March 8, 2019
* Odyssey - Friday, April 12, 2019 - Sunday, April 15, 2019

Why? We're building the commons. They're clearing obsticles and finding ways to enable us. This loop is made to be closed but the broader a network we have the better chance we have in achieving the common integration of everything!

~Roadmapish steps~
• Group alignment
• Organise a dial in reinforcements team

Communication:
* Riot community, social coding as a larger group.

Other things?? Yes, but uncertain and evolving!
* Post in the Odyssey community

We'll likely get on curating that Snowball very shortly! In the meanwhile please feel welcome to start collaborating and rounding up a crew :D

@geleeroyale Hackathon is after ETHCC or during that week? I'm in Paris from Sat till Fri, maybe we should catch up. Not sure if/how I can participate in hackathon but I'd love to be there.

@joshafairhead Will you be in Paris?

Hackathon is called ETHParis (part of ETHglobal) and takes place after ETHCC (8-10th March). You should come <3 ... if you don't want to participate in the hackathon, there is also a DGOV summit on the 8th

Argh, I'm leaving on 8th 😐

I'm feeling that its something I should be at to stir pots but uncertain just yet if I'll be there :)

Odyssey Narrative for Teams 1, 2 & 3! Closed Fri 15 Mar 2019 10:01AM

We are gearing up for domination! The goal is to get the entire plan ready to go before we arrive, so we can just execute when we get there. The most obvious thing to nail down is the narrative... no need to be making up shit on the fly there.

We can even work on some of the more complicated pieces before we get there... but thats not what this loomio is about.

I propose we build the narrative around teams 1, 2 & 3 around Forests in Mexico... maybe we call it "Bosques Comunes de Mexico" These teams are all working together on 3 parts of the same project. This is almost 1 giant team.

Team 1 would work on the BCM token bonding curve.
Team 2 would build out the voting module and the trigger function needed for the Comunes to make funding decisions (using the BCM token).
Team 3 takes Giveth Milestones and figures out the staking module that adds them to the voting module and adds the functionality to the DApp to convert xDAI into the BCM token and then create a narrative around using alibre to convert xDAI into pesos in people's bank account.
Team 4 is going to the meta layer above, assuming there are a lot of commons and building something that can assess the various commons and fund the ones that are best. I think they will also make a bonding curve.
Team 5 is working on data attribution, they are part of the crew, but for the most part they will be doing their own thing that will be loosely connected.

SO to reiterate. The proposal is: Let's circle the Narrative for teams 1, 2 & 3 around "Bosques Comunes de Mexico" because its something that fits all three tracks and we can build a real narrative that can end up with impact...
What do you think :-D?

The Alibre connection to solve the last mile i think will really nail home how real this can be, it takes it from a pie in the sky idea to a complete vision with all the pieces in place.

The Alibre narrative is strong. Mexican rainforests integrates a lot of requirements (external/internal) and so simplifies things quite well. I like it!

Sorry, could you pls give more context on why Mexico and reforestation. I've heard something around the fires, but would be great to know the actual narrative from the person who know most about it.

woops only seeing this now -- wouldn't say better idea but we could also continue with the managing of the national parks in the US, that one already got quite some traction - it doesn't need to be one with real world impact for the hackathon itself, I think? But all fine with following the majority
