Our structure. Democracy, Holacracy or Sociocracy
We have a structure that is working for us. There are a few areas that can be improved upon and eventually we will address these and improve upon them. I believe that we have a structure that has already proven that it works and that we don't need to revert back to either holacracy or sociocracy. We can progress by being just simply democratic.

I agree that Democracy is the end goal but we seem to hit a lot of roadblocks waiting on everyone to vote on everything and it can't hurt to try something new. How can anyone step up and lead a group if we are all forbidden from leadership?

we need some structure that might move us forward. At the moment I see no advance.

I simply don't have a clear view as to what will work best with SOL - In the business I ran, it was more the normal hierarchy but with lots of involvement input & direction from staff at all levels - i am very sympathetic to having as much of the decision making/direction democratic - I think Paul is very excited to have got this expert and its probably worth considering what he suggests - but I am very happy to go with the majority view on this

Spoken like a true believer in democracy. Thanks Berge :)

Let's pass this proposal so that we can drop any ideas of either a monarchy or oligarchy ruling over us and move onto actually getting things done.

Ricky,- Paul's been in PNG over the last month, he is actively phoning people to get more people involved - Paul has been very hands on and I think we should ensure everyone is treated with respect. I like and value Paul's involvement. I really don't think its fair or appropriate to belittling anyone's efforts, just because someone doesn't agree or suspect some evil motive. I think it would be good to look at what Paul's expert is suggesting

agree with Berge

@bergedersarkissian I was not aware that he had been actively calling people. Good on him if that is the case. I hope they weren't all people trying to divert us from the course of democracy.

btw, I don't mean to belittle Paul's efforts. I respect that Paul was busy with a very worthy cause in PNG. I guess what I have said and even displayed in graphics could be seen as disrespectful. That's the reality of our situation though. I've tried to explain why we shouldn't be adhering to either holacracy or sociocracy and no one seems to be getting it. Everyone is just fence sitting and claiming that they don't know enough. It's very simple though and if the graphics don't help, I don't know what will. We can either have our group ruled by a dictator or we can all get together and guide the group together.

Here is another graphical representation of holacracy that someone has uploaded to Wikipedia. It shows how holacracy is just the same old hierarchy approach disguised among circles.
