Assigning titles to members
This feature is now live!
You can now set a membership for yourself (or anyone in the group if you're a coordinator) in any group, thread, or decision, simply by selecting 'Set Title' from the membership dropdown.

Simply enter a label for yourself or the group member, and it will appear beside their name for all content in that group, thread, or decision.

These settings cascade, so a thread-specific title will take precedence over a group title.
I think there's a lot of interesting use cases for this (check out my thoughts on the pull request), so I'm keen to hear how you get on with it and about any improvements that could be made.
Happy Loomio-ing! ❤️
I successfully assigned titles to myself in two groups. But as coordinator, failed to assign a title to a member of a group. Entered a title, pressed the button, screen flickered, but no title appeared beside their icon in the members' dropdown.
Thanks for the report; I'll patch that up now.
So exciting!
Does my new thread title show up in my comments?
What happens when I edit my title?
I think I'm almost always going to be editing my own title. It would be nice to add support for language which says "your" rather than "their" as well
Great feature.
Possible good uses...Is editing history of title (changes) accessible in some way to admins at least?

Does this feature seem a little volatile? Or laggy? I set a title for myself in a thread, then reloaded the page a couple of minutes later to see if the title had propagated over previous comments. Not only was the earlier title still displayed (default title for the group), but the title had vanished from my listing in the thread members pane.
I'm noticing titles created at the group level do not automatically show up at the thread level and in the invitations interface, so I've found myself having to toggle between two tabs to get the desired info.
I've just had a little test of this. I've set my group title to Loomio developer and this thread title to Debugger. Without any reloads I'm finding the correct behaviour right away, in both tabs that I have open.
Can you give me some steps to reproduce what you're seeing? (However, I understand if not)
Testing.
As an inveterate categoriser and contextualiser, I feel this is an interesting new descriptor. I'll be interested to see what kinds of use I find myself making of it, in different groups. Thank you :)
