Sub-groups
I still think we have more subgroups than people to occupy them. I think we need to focus our efforts better and that we could do this if we were not so fractured. Most of the tasks are tended to from within the core group and don't yet need a separate place to communicate.
Also, we went through a phase of creating lots of new subgroups. I saw this as pointless activity with no productive results and as a result I tuned out. I become engaged when I see people doing things that produce useful results.
Could we please try to restrict the creation of new groups until we have a group of people (other than the core) to fill them.
I went through the list of Sub-groups and these are my thoughts.
Administration - 2 conversations of no importance. recommend delete.
AEC - 0 conversations. Recommend delete.
Database - has an importand conversation and is an important group. I recommend to keep but would be receptive to deleting if others thought it should be.
Election Campaign Volunteers - Important. Is filling with outside volunteers. Keep
Fundraising - Not active yet, but is important. Keep (unless we delete and recreate when becomes needed).
Graphics - No conversations. Recommend delete. If we get a group of graphics people they could make their own decision to create a new group. At the moment we don't have a graphics group so we don't need this loomio group.
Media - There is one conversation. I think media is currently a role of the core group. I think we should consider deleting this group for now and recreating it later if we think it is necessary.
Petition creator - No discussions yet. Delete now and recreate again when it becomes necessary.
Public Relations - Lots of conversations. Keep.
Short clip guru - Delete, if we can.
Social Media - Keep.
Software - Keep
Website - Keep
So the groups we would keep are:
Database
Election Campaign Volunteers
Fundraising
Public Relations
Social Media
Software
Website

The following staff have the ability to DELETE the ADMINISTRATION group:
Berge, Emma or Oliver.
Those that can DELETE the AEC group are:
?????
and the GRAPHICS group are:
Ricky
and the MEDIA group are:
Ricky
and the PETITION CREATOR group are:
??????
and the SHORT CLIP GURU are:

I have already thought that the above groups needed deleting and have tried to contact Ricky and Francois to give me COORDINATOR access so that i could delete them, but i haven't heard back from them...

Also agree, quality over quantity.

Thanks. If necessary we could create a new loomio group and link back to the important conversations.
We must be careful not to create groups that only have one person with coordinator/admin rights.
It is wrong that Loomio does not give us the ability to remove groups. They have given us the ability to restrict the creation of new groups, which is great.
All loomio sub-groups that are setup should have another key member with admin access. They don't have to be participants in the group, but they should be people from the core group who are most active and we believe will stick around or pass on their admin if they leave. I would be willing to be one such person.

Agree with Joum and am appreciative of his efforts to identify areas of waste.

Hi Joum,
I agree fully, and am happy to delete the admin group if you so need. Great job on sorting all of this out!
Cheers,
Em
