Create a "Grievances" circle

RJ Ricky Jefferyes Public Seen by 17

We should create a sub-group from the IC that deals with
- sexual harassment
- bullying
- EEO complaints
- Any other complaints and grievances in general
- conflict prediction and resolution

You get the idea.

This group should be visible to the public but all discussions within should be hidden to maintain confidentiality.

I just looked up Ambivalent, and yes, that is what I am. I don't see the necessity but I am not decided against.

As backed up by your wikipedia link, "ambivalent" is being both for and against.

The word you might be looking for is "undecided".

Conflict prediction would certainly be better done from within each circle. If problems within circles can be sorted out from within those circles without much distraction, that's great. I think sometimes people feel as though they need another party to get involved, sometimes they need mediation, sometimes they need confidentiality...

If the Grievances circle never gets used, that's great. At least it is there in case someone does need it.

No. I am against because I don't think we need many of the circles we currently have let alone creating more and I am for because is someone feels they need another group and it is not going to drain me then why not.

I also respect your knowledge of conflict management. I think you related it to your security job experience. If you feel you have a skill to share I must trust you know what you are talking about because I know little about conflict management. You won me with that.

Before Paul joined us, I thought the sub-groups would just create themselves. I thought that people who came on board, would be passionate about certain ways that they could help and they would form the groups with others that were willing to help in the same way.

Paul just straight up created all the groups without having the people to fill them. Which wasn't a bed idea, we just have to now find the people to fill them.

I don't think there's too many groups. You will start to see the usefulness of the groups once we get more passionate and active people into them.

Oh, but it probably will continue to seem like too many groups if you continue to spread yourself across all of them.

@rickyj - why are you raising a proposal and voting on it yourself - and then not letting anyone else vote on it?! This is completely ridiculous - if no-one else is voting on it - or havn't yet read it - then you either have to EXTEND THE VOTING DEADLINE or DELETE THE WHOLE PROPOSAL.. Otherwise by leaving this here for people like me to read - your wasting my time and anybody else's time - if they read this also.

@olivermintersolvol Great to have you back. I think Ricky didn't know you were out of action. I think he would have extended it of he knew you would want to vote.
@rickyj hope you are well.
@paul9 Hope you are achieving what you need in PNG.
Everyone, we will get past this soon and SOL will continue to grow.
