Do we accept a sponsor option on the Scoop website and apply for an ad for good with Scoop?

CT Caroline Taylor Public Seen by 28

Hi all, this thread is to decide whether to accept a very generous two for one offer from Jan Rivers of: 1. a sponsor option on the Scoop website and 2. an option to apply to Scoop to register for an ad for good. Jan needs an answer by first thing Tuesday 18 April so please respond to the proposal I'm starting as soon as possible.

We'll warmly accept the very generous offer from Jan Rivers to Mindfulness for Change for a sponsor option on the Scoop website and to apply to Scoop to register for an ad for good. Thanks so very much Jan!

Jan Rivers supported the Scoop fundraiser with a sponsor option and she has decided to offer it to Mindfulness for Change as she feels it would be impactful. It would get MfC’s logo and link on the Scoop politics and parliament website pages for 5 months until the election listed as an “open the election sponsor. Other organisations who will be listed are the equality network, coalition for better broadcasting and hopefully Action Station as well as others. The details are here https://www.pledgeme.co.nz/projects/5084-the-open-news-project-opening-the-election and the pledge reward is called “opening the election sponsorship groundfloor". Jan's extremely kind offer to MfC is a ‘twofer’ as she’d be really keen for the fundraiser to succeed so two benefits for the price of one! The other opportunity is for MfC to register for the ‘ads for good’. Scoop are offering free advertising for a number of advocacy groups in the lead up to the election and the decision about successful groups will be by the end of April. Applicants include the pro-refugee group “Doing our bit”and the article describing this is here http://www.scoop.co.nz/stories/HL1703/S00101/scoop-offering-2-million-ads-for-good-this-election-year.htm. The monthly audience for Scoop is about 500k + individuals.

I propose we warmly accept this extremely kind gift from Jan as it is a great opportunity for MfC to raise our profile alongside other great values aligned organisations.

Green = go ahead what an amazing offer thanks so much Jan!

Orange = I'm not sure so I'm happy to leave the decision to others.

Pink = I only want to accept one of the options or I've got conditions.

Red = I don't agree with accepting Jan's offer.

As Caroline has said it's a "twofer". Scoop's fundraising was successful on Friday evening. I think there has been a real flowering on non-party political activism seeking a better future for NZ & I'd love to see MfC a visible part of that

Sorry I missed voting on this but soooo much YES!

I think this will align perfectly with the mindful elections idea! Which I will be hoping to host an open space session on at Hui #3
