Hello! My name's Phoebe, I'm based in London, and at the moment I describe myself as a creative, culture and paradigm-hacker, scientist and systems-thinker and community organiser, in service to bringing about a more beautiful world.

I'd like to set an intention for using this platform as a place where all members are heard, understood and valued - and we get ever closer to what true 'collaboration' can feel like. Loomio is great as it provides a space where everyone, regardless of their communication style or any other differences, can contribute equally to decisions that are made in a group.

Also, as with all tools and alternative forms of communication, there are limitations which it is good to acknowledge. Nothing can replace the value of a long, in-person discussion or exploration of a topic or weighting of different sides of a decision. I think for big or complex decisions which may have a weighty impact on the group, it is worth having some sort of discussion or airing of ideas before creating a proposal. I do think a certain level of clarity around a situation must exist before moving to setting a proposal here on Loomio. That said, often the process of answering a proposal can help define the proposal itself, and many times the proposal question will be changed numerous times before it is finally the 'right' question.

Ultimately, Loomio can be a hassle-free, clear, fair, enjoyable and documented way to co-create proposals and reach group decisions, and I'm excited to see what we collectively make of the platform together!
