How is sourcing decided upon and disclosure/ non-disclosure managed?

We all have our favorite sources for genetics, many of us realize many if these sources produce/maintain limited supply.

How will we best manage disclosure & non-disclosure of sources, practices/ethics, purchase pricing...

Eg: Several times in recent years I've personally purchased the entire marketed supply from several national seed/plant distributors.
Ex. 2012. Two national suppliers had "failed crops" in this case Eleagnus sp. was seed grown as to Eleagnus multiflora, Goumi.

I bought in a modest <50 plants for my own use and retail purposes. In 2014 I would desire keeping this source private if to my own operations detriment to disclose. bringing unmet greater volume to the supply/demand equation.
