Hello, my name is Ricardo, I run a consulting agency called Armada.digital, my skills are communication, webtools, some developpment and an extensive experience on using the web to self-organize around key issues, from TTIP to Nuclear, I want to bring this experience and help shape/create a movement in Brussels to reclaim the City Hall and demonstrate by a serie of methodologies and citizen participation that Brussels can be our collective dream in practice and that Democracy can be renewed by a full upgrade of the underlying infrastructure that operates our Democracies.

Haroon Sun 25 Jun 2017 4:52PM

Hi my name is Haroon, I've been active in Green and Labour party politics in the UK. I work to empower people at a local level to find solutions to challenges they face. I believe that politics is broken at all levels( EU national and local ). People have been so repulsed that they simply turn away. (Look at the recent low turn out for the French Parliamentary elections). However, this allows corporate interests to dominate our politics and it is therefore essential to reclaim politics. I see politics as being a service not a career. We are facing critical problems (climate change, structural unemployment, rising inequality, etc) that cannot be addressed by the corporate state.

Hi, I am Guy. I am a governance adviser and political economist. I have worked on citizens engagement, anti-corruption, and accountability for more than 25 years. I believe that our current power structures can no longer deal with the strategic challenges we are facing. I am committed to build a Brussels that is equal, fair, accountable and agile.

Hello, Jan Joris is my name.
I would like to host a gettogether to create a unified "branding" of name and Logo.

Culture and communication is my background.
It is fun to talk about different names but is has to be congruent with the identity, a name without a logo and other visual aspects is nothing.

WeBxl is and will always be googled as WEB-XL, it's a great name but it does not work, also it excludes both French, Dutch, Arab and other spoken languages.

We got to get together with some professionals and see the options and contingencies of the name we should all be able to unite behind,

It's quintessential to have serious propositions before we everybody is still welcome this Friday.

But here are some suggestions of names

SARA meaning both pure, happy, noble, its a shared name by all religious and non-religious, emphasizing to be a pro-women movement. good, clear neutral name, recognizable.
It has a positive and gentle connotation, anti-commercial and personal.

BRUS QUE, showing an abrupt break with classic politics, works in many languages.hyphenated or linked, refers to plus que. has many layers

BRUS LALA, a more humorous approach, also lala from Eulala means well-spoken.
takes itself not too serious, like B lala, but also LALA has a musical connotation

ISME (BX), it means "my name" in arabic but also a simple statement, is me!
As a name, thirdly, it means esteemed.
I like the IS ME, as in a reply when people ask who this movement represents.

David Prino Thu 29 Jun 2017 3:27PM

Greetings,

I am David and have skills in marketing and communication.

Like the rest of you I believe in a better world and human evolution. Therefore, I believe that local actions are the key and not dome directives coming from any capital.
We are indeed facing the biggest challenges that humanity has ever had. The action can and must pass by local people, and I want to be a part of it.

Like I said before, we should think on name and logo quickly but without rushing to a result.

From there, all rest of communications will flow.

Hello,

Several years I have worked as a teacher in sciences and now I do informatics.

As an activist for many years in human rights and environmental issues, I love Brussels for the rich diversity in cultures and dreams, but I get so sad to see the exclusion of so many people.

Guilherme Serodio Tue 11 Jul 2017 8:37AM

Hello hello!

My name is Guilherme Serodio, a Portuguese in Bxl for 5 years now. I have a background in Law, Political Science and Intl Relations and have been more and more involved with collective inteligence activation as a means of work, relate and do politics.

After seeing what (and how it) happened in Barcelona and a bit around the world, I am a convicted Municipalist (local, radical democracy) and am sure we can make something really beautiful in this crazy and wonderful city I now call home!

I want to help organize and facilitate meetings, build bridges, focus on confluence techniques and continuously engage citizens so we can make something truly participative and efective in the year to come. We will need a lot of energy and I am all pumped to start!

See you soon in the real world!
