Should we use Loomio as a decision making platform?

As we move forward, we will need to develop a formal decision making process. This is a tool that can be used for democratic decision making on issues that impact the members of Invent Space.
Depending on how we structure ourselves, this tool may not be needed. However, for the time being, this will allow 'members' to vote on important issues even if they are not able to attend a particular meeting.
The tool also allows for sub groups so that our teams for location, outreach, resources, and organization can communicate and make decisions online.
While this specific tool may not suit all of our needs, it can at least be a place to start the discussions that are needed for us to move forward. Discussions that may bog down our in-the-flesh meetings.

I like how this reads on my phone (which is my resource for everything)... I think this will be perfect!

It also allows for subgroups to pop-up easily, and disappear just as easily and as needed by the group. I'll send out invites to everyone tonight

The Invent Space group will use Loomio as the main online decision-making tool. Closed Thu 12 Feb 2015 2:05AM
We have agreed both online and during the general meeting on February 11th, 2015 to use Loomio as our online discussion and decision making tool of choice.
Loomio allows the group to have discussions, create proposals, vote on those proposals, along with a host of other useful features. Using this tool, in combination with our biweekly gatherings, will allow us to make tangible progress towards the goal of making a MakerSpace.
Also, it looks and works great on mobile devices.
Also Also, it is a free and opensource program of whose developers hold principles to geared specifically towards assisting community organizations just like ours.

Yup Yup Yup.
If we end up hating it, we can always change our minds later on.
But for the time-being, I think it fits the bill

It seems to be an easy to use web based tool for voting and sharing thoughts on getting things going for the group. It also provides a location for the community to go to see what decisions are being made.

Seems pretty straight forward, we are still new enough that if it does not work for long term we can find something else :)
