Merging Discussions
When two separate discussions arise in the dashboard that should be presented in one thread, how do we merge them together into one discussion?

Apologies @Scott Laugenour (he/him) - the correct link is: https://help.loomio.com/en/user_manual/discussions/discussion_management/index.html#move-items-between-threads

@Robert Guthrie thank you, but … moving an item from one discussion to another is not the same thing as merging two discussions into one. I am proficient in the former but there seems no present way to do the latter.

@Scott Laugenour (he/him) Just to be clear, you can move all the items from one thread to the other at once.
Can you describe what merging means to you, if this is not it? I'm not able to think of the differences, can you point them out for me?

@Robert Guthrie what you offer is a workaround, which is ok. I just have to take more steps, plus the additional step on closing or deleting the empty discussion header/context.

@Scott Laugenour (he/him) - thanks that helps me understand - A merge function would be click + confirm, and would remove the source thread for you.
I'm not sure how I would handle the merging of the discussion contexts. What would you expect to happen to the thread titles and contexts when a merge happens?

@Robert Guthrie the user could decide which of the two merging thread contexts would be subsumed.
