Task lists for passed proposals
Often when a proposal is passed, there are a set of tasks associated with it that need to be carried out. In a face-to-face meeting, we'd usually try to specify all those tasks, and then immediately ask for volunteers to either do them, or ensure that they are done. It would be really good to have a feature that would cover this in Loomio.
This is interesting @naught101 . It seems to me like a lot of complex tasks would benefit from moving to an online spreadsheet at that stage, and linking the spreadsheet to the Loomio discussion. However, some sort of embedded spreadsheet/checklist feature with notifications would be awesome in theory.
I'm not a coder, but it seems like it'd be a lot of work to do it right. I know Loomio's got its hands full prepping for Loomio 1.0 full release now, but should this idea attract interest, there's a Trello "Ideas Backlog". Hope to see more feedback here!
Two thoughts:
- I wonder if anyone's managing to do this well within the current Loomio feature set?
- are there other apps that do it well that might work as a Loomio plugin?
Loomio > Trello > GitHub
Trello and Github aren't open source though. I'm happy to use them for my personal stuff, and for anything where security isn't really an issue, but I'd rather use something open source if it's available.
There are a bunch of opensource alternatives though.
Kinda makes me wonder why Loomio didn't start as a fork of an existing issue tracker..
Something like:
