Starting the crowdfunding intiative, the benefits of DIF and the online platform

SS Shailaja Shah Public Seen by 215

Ranjan was very supportive of the open source approach, believing in complete transparency and sharing learnings so as to replicate models, improve upon them and thereby maximise impact.

DIF could certainly benefit from this approach to use as one of the main funding platforms, financial and impact reporting methods and also documenting and updating our DIFmaker community. This will certainly make our intitiative highly scaleable and replicable, and thereby help benefit anyone who needs to adopt/ approach us to assist them.

Use of technology would act largely as enabler especially mobile and internet in the field, and also help in rapid development and exposure for communities we seek to assist.

OKAY! i am the boss of Mr Ranjan's Birthday Party and i am making the final decision. vote or no vote.

i say, we start KCC crowd funding platform to showcase a working prototype and something wonderful to announce on 9th of Nov.

Let us also collect funds (maybe offline for now since we don't have details of the projects etc) for 2 Diploma Projects (or research) in the area of development specific to Katalamara (for now). This will in part, make good our initial talks and commitment - via Sajith to Pradyumna a day after Mr Ranjan passed away. This was a collective decision made on Whatsapp and I think it is very important we keep that commitment.

If we are able to collect more funds than is required, we can plan other projects. If crowd funding for KCC works out (and it will), we can use the same platform in future to raise funds for Diploma projects for NID and other institutes.

DO WE ALL AGREE - Sajith & Shai. You are both responsible to let us know the check payment details: (1) for KCC (2) for Diploma/ research projects. this can be shared with everyone.
