So I have lost my mind and forgotten to Internet. Link to pick what you want and prices below x

Hey. Thanks for sorting this! Crumpet would like about 1 cubic metre of wood, maybe a little bit more. Do you reckon one crate would be about the equivalent? Or maybe 1 and a half large dumpy bags, if anyone needs a half (maybe split the second one with Mojo?)

Tara

TaraTue 30 Apr 2019 11:12AM

Happy to sort it, I’m sure we can work something out! Mojo won’t need more than half a large bag I don’t think.

Tara

TaraSat 4 May 2019 2:35PM

I have added the sheet to this thread :)

Sabrina

SabrinaTue 30 Apr 2019 9:44AM

@dean20 have a look on their website for the crate size : http://www.exeterlogs.co.uk/pricelist.htm

It looks like a crate is about 2 cubic meter. Panravia needs 1 cubic meter so we could potentially split the crate between our 2 camps?

Dean

DeanWed 1 May 2019 12:33AM

@sabrina63 It's a bit of a tricky one as "1 cubic metre" normally refers to the wood being quite closely packed in that volume. In the picture, it looks like the dumpy bags are closely packed whereas the crate is quite loose (hence the comparative cheapness of the crate for that volume).

@tara10 could you possible get them on the phone and work out roughly what the trade off between bags and crates is in actual quantity of wood?

Tara

TaraMon 6 May 2019 7:16AM

Hi Sabrina, shall I put you down for one large dumpy bag, as this is about 3/4s of a loose load. Could this be what you need?

Tara

TaraTue 30 Apr 2019 11:13AM

Ah good stuff. If you could both let me know by the 11th? I’ll get the order in!

Case

CaseWed 1 May 2019 1:24PM

We'll want about half a big bag if you want to share that Tara? (we'd both pay less and get slightly less 325 vs 340 cm3) Otherwise we'd like a small bag please

Case

CaseWed 1 May 2019 1:33PM

Oh, and we would like hardwood rather than softwood or pine please - it's for a firepit that will be used for cooking

Case

CaseThu 2 May 2019 2:11PM

And apparently I was failing at maths yesterday. Put 000 after each of those numbers of cm3!

Tara

TaraSat 4 May 2019 2:37PM

Sheet and comment below :) x

Tara

TaraMon 6 May 2019 7:20AM

I have added to the sheet a small dumpy for you guys and one for us as we need a mix of soft and hard x

Tara

TaraThu 2 May 2019 4:24PM

I’m not really sure what the size is in no mathematical understanding terms, but the unit we get at home is usually the back of a range-rover truck load...

Tara

TaraThu 2 May 2019 4:26PM

Hi Dean, sure I’ll call them tomorrow and get some further information for us all. I’ll then stick up a spreadsheet for both Loomio and FB to get this order started. Thanks for your patience I’m juggling a lot at work and home - should be back to normal come tomorrow 👍 x

Tara

TaraSat 4 May 2019 11:05AM

Hi all, I spoke to the company. They said that one large dumpy bag is the equivalent of one crate. I am not sure if that helps? Either way: I’ll attach a spread sheet for peoples orders and upload for you to fill out.
Exeter logs want to know the order no later than Friday next week, so I’ll share this to the Facebook Nest page too :)

Tara

TaraSun 5 May 2019 11:08AM

The doc is editable now too! Sorry 😂

Dean

DeanSun 5 May 2019 11:50PM

It's still only in suggestion mode for me. I've sent a request for editing access.

Anyway, Camp Crumpet will take 1.5 large dumpy bags. Thanks for your work on this! <3

Tara

TaraMon 6 May 2019 7:13AM

Hi Dean,

Thanks! I have updated again after asking a youth how to Internet...
I have updated the spreadsheet - do you want hard logs/ soft/ a mixture of both?

Dean

DeanMon 6 May 2019 11:58AM

Just hardwood please! xx

Tara

TaraMon 6 May 2019 2:15PM

Payment details have now been added :)

Case

CaseTue 7 May 2019 11:29AM

Do you have a taker for your other half bag? (I can't remember if I saw something. We'd be a relevant sharer)

Tara

TaraTue 7 May 2019 11:31AM

I have seen that @aussiefred wants to share a bag if that helps?

Tara

TaraMon 6 May 2019 12:01PM

Added :)

AussieFred

AussieFredTue 7 May 2019 12:47PM

I've put the order into the sheet, I have found my 1/2 bag takers.

Tara

TaraTue 7 May 2019 1:04PM

Perfect :) thanks!

Dean

DeanTue 7 May 2019 8:57PM

A small bag is approximately the same volume as half a large bag. @case1 or @aussiefred would you be willing to share 2 big bags between us, with us paying for and taking 1.5 bags worth? (You can keep the actual bag if you like, for convenience) If not, we'll change our order to one large bag and one small one.

Case

CaseWed 8 May 2019 9:31AM

It works out as cheaper to share a bag, hence us looking (if no one wants to share we'll get a small one, but I would like to try to save the camp budget a little bit!)

Case

CaseWed 8 May 2019 9:33AM

So yes please, order 2 bags and I'll get you £55 and a way for us to move the wood around :-) (I am a bear of little brain today)

Dean

DeanWed 8 May 2019 8:25PM

OK cool. Tara has suggested I pay £165 and you pay £55, or would you prefer I cover it and then you pay me back?

Case

CaseThu 9 May 2019 9:02AM

Cool, if we both pay Tara that works. Time to go do it!

Tara

TaraThu 9 May 2019 11:39AM

Hi Dean, I think that was the cost of what you were after - adjust it any way you need for the order you are placing 🙂

Tara

TaraThu 9 May 2019 7:59PM

@dean20 Case has paid £55 now - are you sorting the rest?

AussieFred

AussieFredTue 7 May 2019 9:42PM

I’m up for sharing. I’m trying to avoid loading, unloading or double handling. My hope is my small bag fits dropped up top at the camping fields.
I imagine they will only drop bag to bag in the requested locations

So I think I’m out.

Tara

TaraWed 8 May 2019 5:58AM

Hey,

Exeter Logs said they would drop the delivery at several different places in the site as long as it was along the road, including free camping, and someone will have a wheel barrow or trolley to assist I'm sure...does that help?
Thanks
Tara

AussieFred

AussieFredWed 8 May 2019 8:27AM

The barrow problem is exactly what I'm avoiding by getting our own. So I'll stick with a small.

maybe don't share the address as this forum is public?

CaseSat 11 May 2019 10:02PM

Hey hey, when is the delivery? (apologies if I'm being dense). (all the panic of trying to work out camp timelines) (decides it's time for bed, y'all just gave me a new platform to keyboard spew on)

Tara

TaraSat 11 May 2019 10:52PM

Heyaaaa, woods going to be delivered Monday - I have the site map so I can tell Exeter Logs where they can drop individual orders to each camp. Don’t panic it’s all covered 🙂

Case

CaseMon 13 May 2019 11:46AM

You are a magic human (does this mean I don't get to play with my shiny new Go Outdoors membership card to buy a trolley to move ours down from Crumpet? sadface (seriously avoid that shop. So tempting. Although most of the spend was essentials. Like hi-viz actually waterproof cycling gloves))
