At the moment, anything that reduces the amount of carbon entering the atmosphere is the priority. New nuclear power stations should not be built but exiting ones should continue, as long as they are safe. Wind, solar and other sustainable energy projects should be pushed and encouraged from all levels of government.

Nuclear is leaving our descendants to clean up the mess and the danger of used plutonium, we can have re-usable power tidal wind and wave with the Hydro system to back it all up.

👤

Until we can develop reliable means of storing renewable energy, we need a fallback base-load generation technology. Existing nuclear reactors should have lives extended until this happens, but new ones should not be built.

👤

Anonymous Fri 30 Nov 2018 5:57PM

with the ageing process making this type of energy dangerous for future generations it is better for the industry to go into solar and in some places, wave power conversion. even wind is a risk with pylons cracking and having to be replaced earlier than envisioned. cutting corners in the energy industry is not a good strategy. every house that is not a listed property should have some form of solar power capability, even those not facing the sun directly

cleaner fish are specialists at cleaning other bigger fish. they have adapted to that role and there are a large number of these in the sea that do this role. some work on salmon, some on whales. they come in all sizes but they help keep the fish, whales and sharks they live close to, healthy and infection clear. removing them would make conditions worse.

a better way to deal with this welfare issue is to have the fish in larger areas so they have more room.

there are questions on this that need answers before it can be answered truthfully. the biggest one is about the waste itself.. do we have a may of either containing it or destroying it. if not then, do the australians have a safe containment or destruction system. if they have and we do not then yes, if they want it. however we need to think seriously about the future of this waste growth. we need a way to dispose of it safely not just store for generations after ours to try to deal with.

All of the topics are ones that I would support but land ownership and development is the big one. I would like to see more investigation of how planning decisions are made at local council level and how communities are often bypassed in the process. Mistakes are too frequent, as is deliberate misdirection.

The 5G rollout in Scotland (and the rest of the UK) without consultation, information or up to date safety testing on this technology for the environment generally and human health. Other cities in Europe are using the EU precautionary Principle to halt the 5G rollout in those places. Why is there so little questioning about this untested technology? Yes id like the Ferret to in depth research and fact check this matter.

Following the damaging findings of the ECCLR & REC Committees wrt salmon farming should not the current outdated 'presumption in favour' be dropped from council planning applications? Currently under the present scheme despite proven damage to the environment applications generally go through without any REAL consideration. We need to over haul the present system completely . We need to look at bio regions. We need to look as the planet as a complete entity with humans as this annoying plague upon her. We need to world wide design a way of healing waters and land. We need to nurture nature . We need to be emphatic to all people un able to land upon a shore. We need to create spaces for everyone of us with an understanding of landscape and community. We need to restore the lands devastated by war . Empathy.

I think we need to keep pressure on land ownership and show how skewed everything seems to be in their favour and to maintain the status quo for their benefit. For example I'd like to know, as a tax payer, if I'm funding the firefighters to go out and put out moor fires that get out of control when set by gamekeepers. How much does this cost and are the estates charged. I remember the hospital used to get charged if firealarms were set off by toasters in the kitchens in the nurses homes.

An investigation into public funded charities and their misuse of finances. The process from application, receipt and verification/audit is non existent and charities know this. Public money ends up paying ghost salaries. Now common practice. Example: apply to Aspiring Communities with false information, obtain over 90k in funding, provide further false info to release funding, operate on a cash only business and don't bank takings, declare further financial hardships. A common cycle
