Press Release Strategy #OpJourno

The April 4th self imposed deadline for the press release has passed. Should we wait until the event has shaped up a bit more and the themes and talking points are more fully developed?
Will writing a press release make us focus on what we think we're doing and form solidarity amongst us and the Occupiers out there who need it ?

#OpJourno Who will we send it to? If we give a respected news entity a chance for an " in-depth an " exclusive" and make sure that reporter is attended to and has image story right - it 'd be better than scattershot mass emails.

I get that—and I keep trying to tell ppl how important real, live conversation is, even if it has to be by phone.
What time on Tuesday are we doing Facebook Outreach—12 noon ET or 3 p.m. ET?

@triciafromphilly - do you have another suggestion for how folks can talk to each other? Maybe shorter calls, more often?

I thought that's what we were using Loomio for? When I bring up a topic to discuss here, I get " let's talk about it on the call ".

ah! capice.

it'll take time to transition...but even so I don't think most folks want to be totally digital. the calls take the place of in person meetings.

I think there's been a lot more discussion here than we previously had on email - and all in one place rather than spread across a few subject lines.

haven't heard yet how this translates for folks with phones, who don't like email for that reason. are you using a phone, Tricia?

I have seen just a few “let’s talk on the call”s (may have even posted that), but to me that is when we are getting close to a proposal, or need more direction about which way to go with it. I see the tools—calls and Loomio—as collaborative, NOT to be chosen between.
