Links to relate with previous discussions

Carlos Gallo Garavano PublicSeen by 69

Many times a new discussion, comment, earlier discussions on the same topic.

I consider it important to create a special section and very visible, to write the links to previous debates.

Hmm, I do think that this is an excellent reason to edit the context (description) of the discussion. I think that's probably all we need?

I think this is part of the bigger design question of how to support a complex discussion to evolve over time, through related discussions and proposals.

For now, a simple solution is to just add links to the context. I often make conscious choices about continuing an existing discussion on a related topic, or starting a new discussion and linking back to the other one. I don't think we've really solves the design of this one yet.

@carlosgallogaravan Thanks, I forgot to update the discussion to say that it worked ...

If you want to link directly to a particular comment then right-click the time it was posted eg. "4 hours ago", "3 minutes ago" for example and select "copy link". This link is specific to an individual comment.

Then using markdown

1 > Give your link a name enclosed in square braces "[" at the beginning and "]" at the end.

2> Immediately after the ending square brace create the link using "(" and then paste the link you copied from the bottom of the comment. Closing the link with ")"

If the above is not clear click the (Help) link below the comment section right beside the "Markdown" option.

This is not going to work on the mobile version but may be useful...
