FOSS4G Europe 2020 request for seed funding
The LOC for FOSS4G Europe 2020 has asked for 2000 seed funding. I cite Peteris from his email he sent to the board list on 27th of January:
"We would like to ask for seed funds for FOSS4G-Europe 2020 which we are organizing for July 2020.
We are expecting 200-300+ attendees.
We already have some expenses we have that we would like to cover. Some expenses we have already covered by our company, and moust likely we will continue in some cases, but we would be happy to reduce this dependency. So we would like to ask OSGeo for seed 2.000 Euro money. We will pay the money back after the event."
There was a similar situation for F4G NA, the board that time decided to accept and helped out with seed money.

I am part of the LOC for FOSS4G Europe 2020, so I don't know if that puts me in a position to abstain from voting. I am inclined to believe that it doesn't, so I will cast my vote. However, if the general opinion says otherwise, I will abstain.

@Codrina, @Astrid - I do not see any problems, you are both members of the board and asking for seed money is nothing you personally have any benefits from ;-)
