The event forum's recommendations to QLDC have been partly implemented. Is it dangerous ground to get in there and try and change or speed up an agencies response? A slippery slope?

If we are a "vioce" then we need to remain independent from agencies and thus be able to comment on how well adopted a recommendation has been

Using the current instance as an example, we have reconvened a task force because of misunderstandings. I have communicated concerns about the agency approach and it is being mitigated. Outcomes of this intervention are likely to help.

Does that mean task forces can't be reconvened? If so this would mean the task force delivers its report and has no further say in what happens. I'm not sure this fixed approach would meet the prioritising criteria?

disagreement! can we cope?

Yes task forces need to be re convened............ agencies need to step up and adopt recommendations without tinkering as has happened here.................

Is there not some responsibility to those involved in the process that it is followed up once it is recommended to the agency so it is not about relinquishing control to another entity. I think it is necessary to 'get in there' and be clear about a time frame and to know that the momentum to find alternatives doesn't die because the agency takes so long to reply. Also what are the plan B's and C's if the agency rejects it or fails to implement?
